HIPAA/HITECH

What is required, what is addressable, what makes sense and what is really necessary for a practice your size? Is your patient data really at risk?

It's enough to make your head spin and there are too many foreign terms for the non-technical to be able to interpret and take meaningful action. The fact is, especially with the new HITECH regs, there is a lot on the line with regards to the HITECH $$$ available for meaningful use and in breach notification, if your patient data is truly breached, say through a stolen laptop, a patient information report accidentally being sent via email by an employee to an unauthorized person, etc.

We know what it takes for a medical practice to comply with HIPAA/HITECH and can help you make sense of how your practice is affected. It touches policy's and procedures, backup and disaster recovery, risk assessments/audits, patient data authorized/unauthorized access, physical security of systems containing PHI (Patient Health Information), password safety, data encryption and many other areas. We can provide valuable insight that most other IT providers can't. Don't put your trust in an IT partner that only knows IT and doesn't understand the nuances of your medical practice.
